NEWBORN PHOTOSHOOT: A DAY IN THE LIFE OF A FAMILY OF 5
The birth of a third child is an exciting event. Not just because you’re welcoming a new family member, but because the two older kids are grown and excited to help. It’s a beautiful thing to see siblings interact, and it’s even more magical to see them care for one another.
K. contacted me right after her third child had been born. She was interested in a newborn photoshoot and wanted to capture the excitement of the whole family. K. knew this was probably the last time they were welcoming a newborn into their home, so what better way to remember the time than with photos?
BABY BEING PHOTOGRAPED AT 2 WEEKS
We managed to organise a photoshoot 10 days later when the baby was about 2 weeks old. This is a great time for taking photos of a newborn. Why? The baby is still tiny and so new, but mom has had a bit of time to recover. (Plus, her motherly hormones give her a beautiful glow!)
When I got there the home was spotless! The new mommy even managed to clean the windows. I never ask for this โ some mess and marks on the windows are a sign the house is being lived and loved in. Nevertheless, I was quite impressed.
A NEWBORN SESSION THAT MADE MY HEART SING
The love this family shared and the excitement of the kids welcoming a new baby into the house was abundant. All the dancing and jumping around made for such a sweet and fun session!
I hope that in many years they can look back at these photos and remember the sweet memories: the smell of the little babyโs head, the feel of her soft skin, and the feeling of holding their tiny girl in their arms. These are the first moments of them as a family of 5!
