Every photoshoot is different making every gallery different too. However, one thing remains the same: authenticity. My photos share real moments and the end result is a gallery that shares a story. And it’s not just any story, it’s that of a loving family that invited me to their home to capture their beautiful, perfectly imperfect lives.

Before every photoshoot, I try to get to know the family I’m going to photograph. I do this through a simple questionnaire. I want to know how they spend their time, where they hang out most, what makes them laugh, and anything else they want to share. That way when it’s time for the shoot, we can focus on those qualities and bring them to life.

AUTHENTIC IMAGES THAT CAPTURE THE MAGIC OF EVERYDAY

This particular family loves cuddling, playing instruments, making pancakes and going to a little nearby forest. And you probably would have guessed from looking at the photos, right?

These everyday activities might seem routine now, but in 20 years when they look back at these images, they will instantly be transported back. Photos should share the story of who they were and what they were like. The photos will strike memories from when they were young parents, and the kids will see their childhood first-hand. Not to mention, they will be surprised to see just how pretty Mommy was!

MY GOAL: CREATE A BEAUTIFUL VISIUAL HERITAGE OF THE FAMILY

Another thing that never changes is my approach. I want to showcase the family in their natural environment as beautifully as I can. I guide them a bit, of course, but I feel the outcome is even better when I leave the family to just do their thing! By watching them do their favourite activities, sometimes they even forget I’m there! This is when their closeness and connections begin to sparkle. So that is my goal: to capture those precious little moments for the family to cherish forever!
